Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS)
Real-time Vibration & Acoustic Monitoring Over Long Distances
What is DAS?
Distributed Acoustic Sensing transforms a standard fiber-optic cable into a continuous array of highly sensitive acoustic and vibration sensors. Using optical backscatter analysis, DAS detects and locates vibrations along tens of kilometers with high spatial and temporal resolution.
How DAS Works
DAS sends laser pulses into optical fiber. When the fiber experiences vibration, the backscattered Rayleigh signal changes. Our interrogation unit detects these changes and converts them into vibration data with precise geolocation.
