Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS)
Continuous Temperature Monitoring With Meter-Level Resolution
What is DTS?
Distributed Temperature Sensing uses Raman backscatter to measure temperature along the entire length of an optical fiber. It provides real-time thermal profiling across 10–30 km, ensuring reliable detection of hotspots, fires, leaks, and thermal anomalies.
How DTS Works
Laser pulses are transmitted into the fiber. The system analyzes the ratio between Stokes and Anti-Stokes light, which varies with temperature. This enables highly accurate temperature measurement at every meter.
